Reactions relevant to supernova explosions

From the macrocosm to the microcosm: (Left) Spatial distribution
of emissions from the CasA supernova remnant (roughly 10 light years across), (Right) A SiC-X presolar stardust grain. The difference in size? Almost 23 orders of magnitude! Yet, nuclear reactions govern them both.

Part of the experimental setup we used to directly study the 13N(α,p)16O reaction using CRIB at RIKEN.
